Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl

The lovely Miss Ellen Jong has just gotten her first cover—of this week's Stranger, Seattle's hottest paper. Their inimitable art director, the divine Miss Kelly O just selected one of Ellen's juiciest shots from Pees on Earth for the cover of the paper.



In just two days, 50 people have commented on their blog. But the number is deceiving as many have missed the point and are talking about some smoking ban.

Did I ever tell you about the time I was on Fox Midday News? It was a strange moment. I was standing in the studio, behind a tin table with our books, while anchor Jody Applegate introduced me, saying, "Today we have Sara Rosen of powerHouse Books who will present the best photo books of 2004. Hi Sara. Welcome."

I memorized everything. I had little 45 second speeches about all of our books down perfectly. I knew exactly what to say about Autograf, about InTents, about LeRoy Neiman, about Jackie, about Gladiators, about Beastie Boys Anthology. But. I did not rehearse my greeting. I drew a blank. I went on autopilot. I said the only thing I could think of at that moment:

Welcome.

Jody looked a lil perplexed but smoothly cruised past my welcoming her to her own show. Just as I welcome you to my show. Err. Blog. Can you believe it? A blog. Like I don't talk enough already. Now I get to talk to you. About what?
